The bulk of it is devoted to the sword coast setting and its surrounding lore, but it’s also got a couple mechanical extras. It is a considerable splat book, i will do a brief review of the guide, along what i thought was great, and some of the things i did not find so great. The sword coast adventurer’s guide is the first player and dungeonmaster book for dnd5e. The sword coast adventurer's guide came out as the first supplement book that was not part of a campaign book. Since i recently started running horde of the dragon queen and the players are still on the road to elturel this book will be of great help to me, especially if they stray from the campaign.
